Lean Manufacturing Supervisor

The Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing Supervisor will coordinate with production personnel to analyze, optimize, and improve RRD label products using Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Will also coordinate projects to improve performance and processes, and reduce waste.

  • Lead the adoption of a LEAN culture through manufacturing initiatives and process improvements at RRD.
  • Serve as Plant Level LEAN / CI expert, overseeing the successful implementation of LEAN manufacturing and continuous and process flow improvements necessary to meet the expansion of production capacity efficiently.
  • Suggest hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing, optimizing labor resources and systems, creating flow, productivity, 5S, and reducing waste.
  • Find areas of improvement by developing breakthrough initiatives using Kaizen events, 5S, and 6 Sigma tools.
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production and reporting and recommend solutions
  • Provide manufacturing data (production control charts, reliability, process capability, etc.) to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to the target outcome.
  • Organize meetings with other team members to facilitate growth.
  • Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations. (new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements, etc.).
  • Ensure a safe workplace and continually emphasize the importance of safety standards.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Create necessary documentation to support projects and maintain accurate records related to proposed changes to the production system, including work instructions where appropriate.
  • Work closely with management, technical, supervisory, and production personnel to assist in the implementation of LEAN plans and projects.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive job-related experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and methods
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—verbal and written, and the ability to listen intently
  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)



Required Experience: 


  • Preferred four years Bachelor's degree
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
  • Three successful years of LEAN implementation experience with a proven record of sustainable results
  • Prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing operations
  • Extensive job-related experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and methods
