Applications and Resumés

Job applicants often give themselves a promoted position on a resume or application by claiming an inflated title or more responsibility than they actually had in their past or current roles. Additionally, there is a growing problem with applicants claiming degrees and/or other credentials they have not earned. Regarding education indicated on resumés, we strongly suggest being very wary of applicants who claim that it is the school’s error when you check their education credentials and your findings do not sync up with the information they have provided. The “information age” has given employers less expensive methods for doing prospective employee background checks. Utilization of the correct background assessment tools is essential to ultimately feeling secure in the hiring process.
